Sonali Bendre Haven't charged for 'Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobara'.Sonali said that "The film is directed by Milan Lutharia and I have known him since a long time. He used to assist (Mahesh) Bhatt sahab and my first ever song 'Sambhala hai maine...' was shot by Milan. So the equation and the relationship go very far back,".

Sonali Bendre stays away from the big screen but she made an exception for Milan Luthria directed 'Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobara' (OUATIMD) and says her association with the director goes back a long way and that is why she agreed to do the "guest appearance" in the underworld drama.
Produced by Balaji Motion Pictures, the film features her as Mumtaz. She will be seen on the big screen after a gap of 10 years when the film releases Aug 15.
Sonali's last big screen outing was again a guest appearance in Shah Rukh Khan, Priety Zinta and Saif Ali Khan starrer 'Kal Ho Naa Ho', in which she had played a doctor.

Another reason for Sonali to give a nod to 'Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobara' was its producer Shobha Kapoor, who is a good friend of her mother-in-law.
Sonali said "Shobha aunty has been friends with my mother-in-law for the past 40 years. So, when she calls her and asks for me to do something, I can't say no to her. So it's just that," said the actress known for films like 'Sarfarosh' and 'Zakhm'.
"I have not charged them for anything. So it's not a professional kind of a thing for me, it's just a guest appearance that I am doing for the people that are involved in it. It's a very interesting literal role,".

'Highway' Wrapped Up Before Schedule

The entire shoot was planned for 60 days, but Imtiaz and his team finished the same in 52 days despite a really challenging shoot across six Indian states, said a statement.

The film is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala."The film was mounted and executed in a very short time and I am so happy that its shoot has been completed well within schedule. It makes me very happy, proud and responsible that Imtiaz has left the release and distribution of his first production completely to me. With Imtiaz's magic and A.R. Rahman's amazing music, Highway will be one film to watch out for this December," said Nadiadwala.

The film will released on Dec 13.

Akshay says don't use mobile in theaters. Bollywood star Akshay Kumar has made a short clip appealing cinema-goers to cut their mobile phone usage inside the theaters as he gears up to release his upcoming film "Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Again".

At the release of his latest film on Friday, he was shown in a short clip asking movie goers to turn off their cell phones.

Kumar who is playing a gangster, Shoaib, in the Milan Luthria directed sequel, will be donning his character's look in the forthcoming video.

The short message is being played in PVR and Cinemax properties in India from May 31 until Aug. 8, when the film releases.

Akshay has been roped in to reprise noted actor Mithun Chakraborty's role from Basu Chatterjee's 1982 comedy 'Shaukeen'. 'Rockstar' actress Nargis will play the part essayed by Rati Agnihotri in the yesteryear hit.
In the original film, Mithun played the role of Rati's boyfriend. The remake will be directed by Rumi Jaffrey of 'God Tussi Great Go' fame.We will have Akshay and Nargis in the film. We have just bought the rights of the film but have changed a lot of things to suit the sensibilities of today's audience. Nargis is talented, hence we cast her. Akshay is a brilliant actor
and is good at entertaining people," Rumi told PTI.
The characters of Akshay and Nargis have been rewritten for the remake version. The makers are in the process of finalising the dates of the actors.
With this film, Akshay is finally working with Nargis, after she apparently missed out on sharing screen space with him in 'Khiladi 786' last year.
In the original movie actors - Ashok Kumar, Utpal Dutt and AK Hangal were shown as attracted to the much-younger Rati Agnihotri in 'Shaukeen'. Now, Annu Kapoor, Paresh Rawal and Anupam Kher have been cast as the three old men.
The shooting of the film, reportedly to be based in Thailand, is expected to begin from later this year.
Writer-director Rumi will also remake Chatterjee's another film 'Lakhon Ki Baat', after completing the 'Shaukeen' remake.

Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani director Ayan Mukherji told a daily, how Ranbir was pushed to the extreme for the film. According to the filmmaker, they were shooting in France, in the middle of the ocean, when Ranbir had to jump into the water. The risky part of this shoot was that the actor was devoid of all safety guards, safety jackets and he had to be away from the boat for sometime. This was very dangerous as he could have been eaten by sharks or attacked by sea creatures. Well, this was certainly a life risking task, especially, when one gets the opportunity to work with ex once again. We're are sure that Dippy is highly impressed to see Ranbir dedicated as an actor.

The jury, headed by Steven Spielberg, took the unusual move of awarding the Palme not just to Tunisian-born director Abdellatif Kechiche, but also to the film's two stars: Adele Exarchopoulos and Lea Seydoux. The three clutched each other as they accepted the award, one of cinema's greatest honors.

"The film had a beautiful French youth that I discovered during the long time filming the movie," said Kechiche at the festival closing ceremony Sunday. "It taught me a lot about the spirit of freedom."

Exarchopoulos stars in the French film as a 15-year-old girl whose life is changed when she falls in love with an older woman, played by Seydoux. The three-hour film caught headlines for its lengthy, graphic sex scenes, but bewitched festival goers with its heartbreaking coming of age story.

Life of Adele, which premiered at Cannes just days after France legalized gay marriage, was hailed as a landmark film for its intimate portrait of a same-sex relationship.

"The film is a great love story that made all of us feel privileged to be a fly on the wall, to see this story of deep love and deep heartbreak evolve from the beginning," said Spielberg. "The director didn't put any constraints on the narrative, on the storytelling. He let the scenes play as long as scenes play in real life."

Spielberg called Kechiche (Games of Love and Chance, The Secret of the Gran) a "sensitive, observant filmmaker."

Ranbir Kapoor : You Can't Make It Again

Bollywood Actor Ranbir Kapoor has dismissed those reports that he and his family are trying to remake his grandfather Raj kapoor's film 'Awara' released in 1951.Kapoor said I believe that I shouldn't remake such a classic film. Once a film like that is made you can't make it again. I don't think I have enough talent to do such a film"

When asked about reports quoting his father Rishi Kapoor saying they would remake Awara with Ranbir in the lead, the 30-year-old actor said, "Even I read in the papers only."

Starring the director-actor Raj Kapoor, Prithviraj Kapoor and Nargis, Awara was included by Time magazine in its All-Time 100 list of the greatest films made since 1923.

Ranbir, who will be seen with Deepika Padukone in the romantic film Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani, said he doesn't have the six-pack abs needed to do an action film.

"Of course I want to do an action film. But for that I don't have the body. When I get a good action film I will build my body for that," said Kapoor.

When asked whether he felt awkward acting with ex-girlfriend Deepika, he said, " Deepika and I came into the industry individually as actors. We both are hardworking, passionate about films and ambitious. Why will there be any awkwardness between me and her?"

The duo had earlier acted together in the 2008 romantic movie Bachna Ae Haseeno.

Thierry Fremaux Praises Indian Cinema at Cannes film festival.

Thierry Fremaux says "When I arrived, in my second year I picked up Devdas for an out-of-competition screening in the main theatre. It's a wonderful souvenir but it was a time when Cannes didn't really have films like that. It was the first time that Indian cinema came for a big screening and not for Satyajit Ray, Mrinal Sen, all these auteur filmmakers from Indian cinema and it was a big risk for me because I was young, I was arriving I said, no please, it's a good film, and it was and it is.

Some years ago we saw a wonderful film from India but it was already released in some other countries. Our rule is that the film should not be released in any other than its own country if it comes to Cannes. During the sixties and seventies, Asian cinema except for Japan, was not present at all in Cannes. But for the last ten years we had more films coming from new generations of auteurs coming from Asia. As I am talking to you, I know I have to go much more inside. Africa for example. It's my job because Cannes is not a French film festival. It's a worldwide film festival that takes place in France. I want to give countries the possibility to use Cannes as a big platform to become much more known.
It's a tribute not for what India used to be, and it was big inside the history of cinema, but for what India is today in the world of cinema.
Thierry Fremaux Praises Indian directors and says "Satyajit Ray still one of my favourite directors. I grew up with him. So it feels like I grew up with India through his films. It makes us proud to pay tribute to this big country of cinema. I also hope lots of producers and filmmakers will visit from India to watch the films being made in Europe, America and South America. Steven Spielberg said he accepted to be President of the jury this year because he said he wanted to do that journey of world cinema to see how people make films in a different way than his.
We can learn from India what we've lost in France for example. The use of music, the use of actors. Actors are like gods in your country. It's not like that anymore in France and not enough. When Jean Gabin, the great French actor, used to arrive in the room everyone was overwhelmed but now that kind of thing is more banal.

Indian cinema is in good health. I think the brand India is very strong in cinema and specially in Cannes. There is something that shows that the future can be great for Indian cinema."

Preity Zinta Lost Her Temper

Preity Zinta lost her temper and creates ruckus.Bollywood Actress Preity Zinta created a ruckus at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport on Wednesday night after she was denied permission to board a flight for being too late.

According to airport officials, Preity was to catch Ahmedabad-Mumbai flight departing at about 9:45 pm. However, she reached after the Air India aircraft had closed its doors and was about to take off.

"Air India station manager refused to allow her to board the flight for being late," an airport official said. Following this, Preity Zinta is said to have lost her temper and got into a heated argument with the Air India staffers.
Eye witnesses said Preity Zinta was so furious and aggressive that security officials had to intervene. Sources said Preity Zinta had to spend the night at the airport, waiting for the 4 am flight.

Priyanka visits Vaishnodevi shrine.Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra and other members of her family today visited the holy cave shrine of Vaishno Devi in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir.

The 30-year-old actress and her family members reached Katra, the base camp of the shrine, from Mumbai yesterday and took part in Maha Kali yajna.

Priyanka trekked on foot to reach the shrine and had a special 'darshan' of the goddess this morning before returning home.

Aamir Khan's dialogues in Bhojpuri in Peekay.It looks like Aamir Khan has done it again. Sources say the actor has ditched dialogues in Hindi for a local dialect the second time in his career for Rajkumar Hirani's upcoming film titled Peekay.

For his 2001 film Lagaan, Aamir's dialogues were in local Avadhi. Sources say all of the actor's dialogues in Raju's film will be in Bhojpuri.

A source says, "Aamir's character is from a region in the country where Bhojpuri is spoken locally. He also had dialogues in Bhojpuri for a cola ad he did many years ago."
