Jaya, Amitabh Bachchan wish you a very Happy marriage anniversary.It's been four decades since Amitabh Bachchan married his Zanjeer co-star Jaya. The megastar looks back at the "lifetime" and says God has been kind to give him the family that he has.
"40 years! 40 years of marriage on the 3rd of June 2013! Jaya and I in marriage for 40 years! A lifetime almost," the 70-year-old posted on his blog srbachchan.tumblr.com.
"T 1127 -It is past the hour of 12 midnight and time to acknowledge 40 years of our marriage .. June 3, 1973," tweeted Amitabh Bachchan. The couple, who have stayed strong together through the many troubles in life, is Bollywood's most respected and celebrated jodi.
The couple has been showered with wishes from the film industry and fans from across the world. "T 1127 -To all those that wish us a happy anniversary .. our gratitude and love and blessings .. and joy ! Thank you !," tweeted Amitabh Bachchan.
Amitabh's son Abhishek Bachchan also expressed his joy on his micro-blogging webpage. "June 3rd 1973, 40yrs ago my parents got married. The 2 most important people in my life. Happy anniversary mom and dad, love you," tweeted the actor, who is married to Mangalore girl Aishwarya Rai.
The Bachchan family have stood for strength, unity and values throughout and we hope they only get stronger with each generation.
