A thief loses his memory after a heist and forgets the location of the stash, with hilarious consequences.Though the film has its funny moments, the overall product is not as impressive as was expected.

Sanju Atre (Emraan Hashmi) is a retired thief who stays with his ambitious wife Neetu (Vidya Balan) in Mumbai. When Sanju gets an opportunity to participate in the biggest heist of his life, the initially reluctant Sanju agrees to be a part of it after encouragement from his wife.

Teaming up with Pandit (Rajesh Sharma) and Idris (Namit Das), Sanju manages to rob a bank to the tune of a cool Rs. 30 crore. Pandit and Idris tell Sanju to keep the money safe with him so that they can meet after three months (when things have cooled down) to divide the loot.

However, when Pandit and Idris call him up after three months, Sanju claims to know nothing about them or about any money from a bank robbery. When the two robbers confront him, Sanju claims to have lost his memory following an accident.

Is Sanju lying? Or is he double-crossing everyone? Watch the movie to find out...

The usually dark and edgy Emraan gives a very restrained performance in the film and is bound to impress everyone. Vidya Balan as the loud Punjabi wife is an absolute delight to watch and after serious performances in The Dirty Picture and Kahaani, Balan proves that she can tackle comedy with equal ease.
If you have been a fan of Gupta's previous two films, Ghanchakkar might end up disappointing you, though there are a few enjoyable moments in the flick.
